Bedside catheterisation
One of the most common procedures in intensive care is cardiac catheterisation and insertion of a central venous catheter. Both are carried out with the use of X-ray or required subsequent X-ray monitoring. LINET ICU Multicare, Eleganza 5 and Eleganza 3XC beds are equipped with an X-ray translucent mattress platform that enables these procedures to be performed in bed, with minimum risk to the patient.
Avoiding complications
X-ray is one of the most common procedures performed in critical and intensive care. Imaging of the lungs and chest can prevent life-threatening complications, such as pneumothorax, fluidothorax and haemothorax. It also facilitates monitoring after the insertion of chest drains. Last but not least, doctors can also diagnose fractured ribs.
Eliminating the need to transfer patients in a life-threatening condition is an undeniable advantage. For example, the risk of internal bleeding related to severe skeletal system injury, abdominal trauma, or complicated surgical procedures may be a strict contraindication for any type of movement.
Practical usability
Safe and easy chest imaging is achieved thanks to an X-ray cassette holder integrated into the backrest. There is a side handle and positioning system for placement beneath the patient and a special slide-out construction for fast insertion of cassettes. The system eliminates the need to lift the patient manually and place the X-ray cassette on the mattress.
